Lamps
Of all the items in the
expendables store, lamps have the quickest turnover. Many of our 'stock'
lamps are lamps we ourselves use in our rental stock. Because of that,
the stock status of any type of lamp can change radically on a daily basis, so
it's always wiser to call ahead and place an order. Otherwise we cannot
guarantee the availability of the lamp.
And... as with many things in our store, quantity is the key to the best deal.
This section covers most of
our commonly sold, 'stock' lamps - those which we try to have in stock on any
given day. Most are organized by base type, and then by
wattage. PAR Lamps are the exception to this; they are
all together, regardless of base type. Most theatrical type lamps are
ANSI (American National Standards Institute) coded. ANSI codes are the
best way to order a lamp - any ANSI coded lamp should be identical to any
other manufacturers lamp of the same code. (The only exceptions to this
are cases where several lamps share the same ANSI code as a family. In
those cases, additional information, such as beam spread, may be necessary for
a perfect match.)
For those lamps such as HMI,
HTI, MSR, MSD, USR, Mercury Vapor, or older incandescent types, ANSI codes are not used. If
you can't identify it from the included images below, we suggest you bring it
in and we'll do our best to match it, or find it for you.
This is not intended, nor is it, an all-inclusive list of theatrical
lamps. These are simply what we have found to be the most 'popular'
lamps of those available to the Southern California customer. We are
dealers for OSRAM/Sylvania, Philips, and USHIO, and as such, can order for you
any lamp available from these manufacturers.
