Saddleback Valley Community Church:
A Slideshow
Saddleback Valley Community Church has been a valued
customer for a number of years, now. We are proud to be associated with
them. All of the photos shown here were shot at various times and places
by Jon Griffin, the lighting designer for the church, and a very fine designer,
too...he previously worked for that fellow with the big round black ears...
All you need is a plank... Planks, Torches, and a designer. Larger Venues demand larger measures... An amazing look over the board... Another over the board...
Building a smallish platform stage in the parking lot for an evening event under the stars...
(Platforming and lighting gear by Cal Stage.) A front-of-house position from a pair of Genie towers and some truss.
(Platforming and lighting gear by Cal Stage.) A shot from over the board at dusk, setting some cues.
(Platforming and lighting gear by Cal Stage.) A rig in the main Sanctuary, with some Mac 2000 patterns on the US wall.
(Mac 2000's rented from Cal Stage; white units are house rig.) A close-up showing the rig underneath the media screens above the main platform. A beautiful shot made during a cueing session.
(Mac 2000's rented from Cal Stage; white units are house rig.) Using a little haze in the air really makes the image 'pop.' A constant challenge to the designer; different themes, different seasonal looks; and it all has to look terrific, live and on video. Creating different thematic looks from the color variations possible with moving fixtures, not to mention the patterns possible, are at the heart of this designer's success.
