Truss and Rigging

Truss and rigging is a complex issue. We don't suggest that you come up with your own order without our input, unless you already have experience with it. Regardless, we will require proof of insurance, as well as a waiver of liability to be signed at the time of rental.

Some rental houses have staff riggers. We however, state unequivocally, that we are not riggers. When it is called for, Cal Stage will be happy to refer you to a rigger, or in some cases, contract with one for you. We do this for liability reasons; it allows us to keep the price of equipment rentals down.

Most of our truss is manufactured by Total Structures, and for those in need, we can provide certifications of various sorts for it.

All truss comes complete with rated nuts, bolts, and washers.

If you are looking for a self climbing Truss rig (picture here), please ask specifically for one; they are more complex, and we require either our own labor, or labor certified by us for it's assembly.

CM Lodestar Hoists; available in 1/2 ton and 1 ton versions; requires liability waiver. 1 ton motors are 3 phase with 60' chain falls. 1/2 ton units are single phase (but uses twistlock plug; edison adapter available) with 60' chain falls.
(Please note: if you ask for a motor, that is all you will receive. If you would like spansets or steel or a pickle, ask for a 'Hang Point' instead; it comes with a variety of additional items.)

Shackles:
Available in 3/8", 1/2", and 5/8" sizes

Spansets:
available in 18", 3', and 6' sizes; requires liability waiver

Motor Controllers: 4 and 8 motor three phase units; normally for 1 ton motors, can be used with 1/2 tons. Also: 4 motor control only units for the 1/2 ton motors.
